Out on the trails in Colorado.
Prototype 1.0 is complete, and has about 200 test miles on it so far. Some high elevation, rocky Colorado trails were a blast. The light weight, low CG, and low-end torque were really enjoyable, even with OEM CRF250L suspension. Can’t wait to try this again with some quality suspension.
There is a long list of things to change in the next build. Some of the highlights are:
Get wet weight below 350 lb (with full gas tank)
Increase fuel capacity to 4-5 US gallons
Increase suspension travel to 10" front/rear
Incorporate aftermarket, fully adjustable suspension as standard
Incorporate cush hub in rear wheel
Optimize airbox, exhaust, and tuning for better engine performance
Incorporate dashboard / fairing / wind protection
Create options for seat height. Nominal 34.0", adjustable from 32.0" to 36.0" using options for seat and linkage
Generally increase fit and finish of components, and make design scalable for production
Ensure all regulatory boxes are checked to comply with DOT, EPA, USFS, NHTSA, etc.
